On the morning of November 17, the Institute of Finance and Taxation held a symposium with Chengdu Branch of KPMG Consulting (China) Co., Ltd. in the conference room 811 of Gezhi Building. Tan Wei, Chief Partner of KPMG Sichuan and Chongqing Region(China), Liu Weitao, Senior Manager of Tax Department of Chengdu Branch of KPMG Consulting (China) Co., Ltd., Wen Yuyang, Manager of Tax Department, Chen Meng, Assistant Manager of Human Resources Department, He Jiaming, President of the Institute of Finance and Taxation, Wu Chunli, Secretary of Party Committee, Li Jianjun and Lv Min, Vice Presidents, and Deputy Secretary of Party Committee Wang Longqing attended the symposium.The meeting was chaired by Wu Chunli.

He Jiaming delivered a speech on behalf of the institute, extended a warm welcome to Mr. Tan Wei and his delegation, and introduced the development process of the institute, the characteristics of the discipline and faculty construction in detail. He Jiaming said that this symposium is an important initiative to implement the strategic cooperation between the school and KPMG (China). He hoped that both sides would take this as a new starting point to comprehensively strengthen the cooperation in talent training, teachers' social practice, subject research, student internship training, etc., to deepen the integration of university and enterprise, and to empower high-quality development.

Tan Wei thanked the Institute for its strong support to KPMG. He pointed out that KPMG has a good foundation for cooperation with Southwestern University of Finance and Economics and the Institute of Finance and Taxation. He hoped that both sides will give full play to their respective advantages and jointly carry out cooperation in areas such as talent training, curriculum construction, taxation research, and student internship and employment. He hopes that through the efforts of both sides, they can promote the transformation of results and cultivate compound talents that meet the needs of the country and industry.

At the symposium, the two sides conducted in-depth discussions on cooperation in teaching case development, internship practice, taxation research and other aspects.
