On the morning of 26 September, a six-member delegation led by Mr. Zheng Haoran, Vice Chairman of the Shanghai Oriental Institute for Digital Fiscal-Tax Technology Development, visited the School of Public Finance and Taxation for exchange and discussion. The meeting was attended by Li Jianjun, Dean of the School, Liu Rong, Chair of the Professors’ Committee, along with other faculty representatives.
Dean Li Jianjun introduced the School’s overall profile and highlighted its strategic emphasis on “digital empowerment in public finance and taxation.” He expressed the School’s willingness to deepen collaboration with the Institute in areas such as data governance and intelligent tax administration. Mr. Xu Zhou, Executive Dean of the Institute, outlined its background and practical achievements in smart taxation. He noted that cooperation between the two sides would leverage their complementary strengths to address key challenges in the development of smart taxation and tax-related academic programs. Professor Liu Rong provided a detailed update on the Digital Fiscal-Tax Experimental Class, including its curriculum design, faculty structure, and talent development pathways, and laid out plans for next steps.
The two parties then held in-depth discussions on industry-academia-research collaboration in smart taxation, undergraduate talent cultivation, and scientific research. A preliminary consensus was reached on “complementary advantages, resource sharing, and collaborative innovation.” Both sides committed to working together to advance the discipline of public finance and taxation through concrete cooperative initiatives.
