School of Public Finance and Taxation Holds "Study-Abroad Salon" to Expand International Opportunities

2025-10-16

On the afternoon of 14 October, the School of Public Finance and Taxation held its “Study-Abroad Salon” in Room 918 of Gezhi Building. The event, chaired by Associate Professor Song Yang, Director of International Affairs, attracted over 40 undergraduate and postgraduate students. Professor Lv Min, Vice Dean of the School, also attended.

Mr. Zuo Jinglin, Section Chief of the Faculty and Exchange Programmes Office in the Office of International Exchange and Cooperation (OIEC), delivered a presentation titled “Student Exchange and Study-Abroad Overview at SWUFE.” He outlined the University’s extensive overseas partnership network, which includes more than 30 world-renowned institutions such as the University of Cambridge, University of Oxford, National University of Singapore, and UC Berkeley. Cooperation models range from dual-degree programs (2+2/3+1) and bachelor-to-master tracks (4+1) to double master’s programs (1+1), semester exchanges, winter/summer research projects, and joint Ph.D. training.

Using specific examples such as the Birmingham 2+2 program, Cambridge winter research, and Amsterdam semester exchange, Mr. Zuo analyzed key considerations including costs, language requirements, and course articulation. During the Q&A session, students actively inquired about application procedures and credit transfer policies. Mr. Zuo provided detailed answers and encouraged students to make full use of the University’s official platforms to stay informed and minimize information gaps.

Building on this event, the School will continue to organize activities and provide guidance to help students broaden their international perspectives and access overseas exchange opportunities.
